Club Update - 18/12/18

Afternoon all,

A great result on Saturday as our club side beat Old Freemans 12-7 in some awful conditions. Great to see the forwards pushing the scrum all over the park, matching the back's tactic of knocking it on whenever possible. And a very successful Christmas Curry night afterward, certainly the first time in my 6 years at the club that we have been politely asked to vacate the restaurant! Thanks to Neil Otter for leading the particular song which got us removed.

So, Christmas.

TONIGHT - LIGHT TRAINING UNDER NEW FLOODLIGHTS & CHRISTMAS DRINKS

Oliver Dinsdale

Dear all,

For all those wishing to attend Oliver’s funeral the details are as follows.

Monday 3rd December at 11:35 at Woking Crematorium located opposite Winston Churchill school.

Hermitage Road, GU21 8TJ

The wake will be held at Camphill social club after the service around 1230.

All are welcome to celebrate my brothers short but full life with us. We do ask that if you are attending that you either wear bright colours or rugby tops. Thank you for all the support and love my family and I have received it has truly been remarkable.

Dusty

Club Update - 19/11/18

Afternoon all,

A great result for the club on Saturday, picking up a bonus point win 24-7 against Old Glynonians. Congrats to Chris Wallis on a well deserved Man of the Match, and to Alisdair Hamilton-Wilkes (Yes he's still playing) on a truly marvelous Dick of the Day! Commiserations to Ryan Snape, who narrowly missed out on MoM because, to use the captain's words, "he's a c**t". Welcome to the friendliest club in Surrey Ryan! A great team performance all round. Even Tom Smith!

The fight continues for Woking Rugby to maintain Surrey 3 status for next season!

Committee/Club Update

Evening all,

It's been a while since a club update was communicated via email. After a long committee meeting last night, it was agreed that I (Aitch) would start a weekly club update, to inform all of those not on Faceache of the on-goings of our rugby club.

An emergency meeting was held after committee last night, the upshot being that your rugby club needs you. We are now two months into only being able to field one team due to an extended injury list, but more importantly a long list of absent friends. Please note the below is a call to arms. Your club needs you.

Woking RFC - Woking Club of the Year 2018

At the awards evening last night Woking Rugby Club claimed a top award , Woking ‘Club of the Year’. With the first team being runners up in ‘Team of the Year’ it was a very successful night for the club.

President Mr Stanley Fisher commented that the recognition was well deserved by both the 1st XV led last season by captain Michael Aitchison and all those volunteers and members that make Woking Rugby Club such a great club to be part of paying particular tribute to long standing driving force and Club Captain Mr Richard Grady.
