Woking RFC Cricket friendly - 17th July

Our first Woking Rugby cricket friendly has been arranged for Thursday 17th July at 6pm at Old Woking Cricket Club.

If you are keen to play please let Aitchy mjkaitchison@gmail.com know ASAP. There is only space for 11!

The opposition will provide kit unless you have your own but your own box is required for obvious reasons.

There will be another game or two organised over the summer, dates tbc and if there is enough interest Aitchy will look at the possibly of an intra-club cricket match...maybe over 35's v under 35's!

RugbyForce 2014 - 21/22 June

The RFU in partnership with NatWest have launched NatWest RugbyForce 2014, the second year of a nationwide programme designed to provide an opportunity to welcome members, volunteers and local businesses from the community for a weekend of DIY to help make rugby clubs stronger businesses by renovating their facilities.

Year one of the programme was a huge success with over 400 clubs across England taking part in the DIY weekend.

NatWest RugbyForce 2014 will take place on Saturday
21st and Sunday 22nd June 2014 and promises to be another great weekend.

Intra Club 7's - 7th June

This Saturday is Intra Club 7's day at 13:00hrs at Byfleet Rec - first game kicks of at 14:00hrs.

This is open to ALL Woking RFC members whether you want to play competitive 7s or play just for fun. Last year was a great success with several teams fighting it out to be crowned the Woking RFC Intra-club 7s champions.

Our first 7's tournament is on the 14th June so all to attend please.

All family members, partners and friends are welcome to come down and watch the games! Please bring your own pitchside refreshments.

New Zealand v England breakfast 7th June @ Camphill

Watch England's 1st test against New Zealand this Saturday 07th June at Camphill Club with your rugby mates.

Covereage starts at 08:00hrs, kick off 08:35hrs.

Skinny boy breakfast is on offer but we need to know numbers - if you're interested please talk to Colin ASAP for futher details and to secure your nosh - don't turn up expecting a fry up just to find that beans on toast is all that's left...unless you're Neil!

Unfortunately for those of you who haven't yet booked your tickets to this years Dinner Dance the event is now completely sold out sorry......but for those of you who have booked your tickets it's promising to be a night to remember!

Summer Training

Please all note that non-contact training will be continuing on Tuesdays for the foreseeable future. This allows a good level of fitness to be maintained, skills to be developed and recuperation from all the hard knocks, stresses and strains.

The Captains and Coaching staff shall be meeting shortly to plan for the formal pre-season training programme. Any constructive/sensible suggestions requests to Aitch please.

President's Day Match Report

Presidents day, plans are made for a great day……..

Woking RFC president Sean Elder is pleased to announce the finalised plans for this year’s Presidents Day. Woking Committee has worked tirelessly to make this event happen and here are the details:-

1000hours - all Presidents and 2nd XV players to meet at Camphill
1100hours – Woking 2nd XV v Presidents XV
1330hours – Presidents Lunch – Invited guests only
1500hours – Woking RFC v Farnham RFC
1700hours – Festivities at Camphill. BBQ in the evening.

Woking II XV Celebrate League Title

Woking II XV travelled to Old Caterhamians on Saturday knowing that only a win would secure the league title. Woking warmed full of passion and enthusiasm however knowing what was at stake nerves were evident. Old Cats had been boosted with the Easter break allowing some of their younger university players to return.
