Woking 1 XV were on a squad session for the weekend to regroup, after the shattering defeat to Lightwater the previous week, ahead of their forthcoming league game against Met Police so attention turned to the 2XV who were bolstered by a few players coming back from an extended Christmas break and injury.

In very bright winter sun Woking received the kick-off and proceeded to dominate the game in most aspects. Early tries from back rowers Simon "Kojak" Power and Adam Smith set the tone for Woking as they attempted to play an expansive fast running game. The packs were fairly evenly matched in the scrums which demonstrated real effort from the Vandals as the Woking 2XV pack have been very powerful this season. Woking were however generally dominant in the line out as their captain Jason Williams at 6 ft 9inches scoopd up both his and the Vandals ball assisted by Matt Childs Matt Brennan and Sam Fawcett.

Powerful forward and back play from Woking marshalled in the first half by No.10 Dan Edwards and in the second half Patty Goodburn meant there was plenty of ball for the Woking backs to run from deep and forwards to thrive off. This led to tries through both the forwards and the backs in both the first half and second. Adam Smith picked up a further try, Jason Williams, Patty Goodburn a hat trick, Evan Marchant and Ross Flaherty on the wing and James Bannister at full back amongst other.

Woking pushed for a final try which saw No. 8 Andy Jones attempt to link to fly half Pat Goodburn however the wayward pass bounced off Goodburn's shoulder into the arms of a Vandals player who raced to the line for the try.

After the game Woking Captain Jason Williams was delighted with his side's performance as he exclaimedin between mouthfuls of tasty spicy chilli and rice ' A good all round performance from the boys today against a useful Vandals team that to be fair just never got going'.
