Woking II XV travelled to Old Caterhamians on Saturday knowing that only a win would secure the league title. Woking warmed full of passion and enthusiasm however knowing what was at stake nerves were evident. Old Cats had been boosted with the Easter break allowing some of their younger university players to return.

Inspirational pre match talks from Andy Jones, Phil Bennett, and Captain Jason Williams saw Woking start the brighter team. But within 5 minutes against the run of play Old Cats had a break away try from their own 5 meter line showing the danger they posed. Woking remained calm, settled into their stride and played a very hard high tempo game. The final score did not do justice to Old Cats as Woking won 43-7 to secure the league allowing the celebrations to commence.

Woking II XV Captain stated after the game “Everyone put their bodies on the line today, you only had to look around to see what it meant to the whole team. This is an excellent result for the club and shows we are pushing in the right direction.”
