Great night for Woking RFC

After a busy few weeks for Woking RFC in which they traveled to Exeter for the end of season tour, as well as the Presidents Day where the 1st XV took on Aldermaston to raise funds for the Sam Beare charitable trust, it was time for one final event with the annual awards dinner. Both players and supporters were in attendance for a historical event for the club with RFU accreditation being awarded. The award, presented to club President Stanley Fisher by the RFU representative for Surrey Tony Price means Woking have achieved the standards set by the RFU for developing the club and going from strength to strength for years to come.

After the accreditation was awarded, it was onto the annual awards. Highlights included the 1st XV player of the year being awarded to Steve Rhodes for the second year running, the Presidents Cup for outstanding services awarded to Andy Burrell for his work driving the accreditation project and Paul Collins was awarded Life Vice Presidency for over 30 years service to the club.

President Stanley Fisher commented "This is a proud night for Woking RFC. There are still many clubs who have not achieved the standards that Woking have been recognised for tonight and this allows us to build for a strong future. My deepest thanks go to Chairman Andy Burrell who without his efforts, this wouldn't have been possible. I'm very much looking forward to a successful 17/18 season for Woking RFC."
