Player Charter

At Woking, we aim to offer an excellent rugby experience to those interested in playing the game at a competitive level. We offer good training facilities and a structured training regime to improve skills, fitness and, both, mental and spatial awareness. Our training ethic is based on Continual Development and Improvement but we do not forget that there is a fun side to the game of rugby.

Player Charter:

  • Players to set individual match and training goals
  • Players to set individual development goals
  • First team players to make 75% of compulsory training
  • Actively support club recruitment
  • All regular players to sign up to Direct Debit membership
  • Other players to pay club membership and match day fees
  • All match day fees to be paid before match
  • Players to get Socks and Shorts for signing up with direct debit
  • Coach, Captain or Vice Captain to collect keys
  • Tuesday 1900 – 2100 at the Byfleet Recreational Ground – Mandatory
  • Notify Coaches/Captains of non attendance before 1900 by Text or Call
  • Training begins at 1930 sharp
  • Turn up to training with appropriate attire
  • Players to try and travel in groups to training
  • Training to be planned and players notified in advance
  • No dissent during training
  • Be attentive and respectful to coaches and players
  • Only constructive criticism after training unless invited to by coaches
  • Give 100%
  • Don’t be afraid to ask
  • Meet at Camphill Club at agreed meeting time
  • Notify Manager or Captain if unable to arrive for the agreed meeting time
  • Players to travel together for matches
  • Match Day Fees to be paid to Manager or Captain by Non Direct Debit Members
  • Non driving players to offer payment for travel
  • Players to be proactive will all aspects of the day
  • Players to support teams if injured
  • Positive environment created and maintained
  • All Players to come back to Camphill Club unless previously agreed with Captain
  • Man of the Match gets a pint
  • Dick of the Day drink is a pint of the Man of the Match’s choice – bucket is provided
  • Dick of the day to wear clothing item
  • Four Week notification to be provided to Captain or Team Manager after every match
  • Players to respect decision of referees regardless of person feelings
  • Players to wear clean boots and kit
  • Opposition and referee clapped off at the end of the match despite result of issues played out during the match
  • Club Socks and Shorts for Matches
  • Club Tie, White Shirt, Dark Jeans and Smart Shoes for All Matches
  • Playing kit, other than boots and rugby shirt, for pre-match meeting and travelling to match
  • Late for Match day meeting – £2
  • Incorrect match day attire – £2
  • Yellow Carded – £5
  • Red Carded – £60 admin fee to surrey rugby dependent on outcome of internal review and jug at discipline hearing regardless of outcome
  • Non attendance at training without notification – £2
  • Non attendance for match after confirmation without notification – £5
  • Alternative fines may be organised if individual is unable to pay
  • Scoring of a hat-trick or multiple hat-tricks
  • Dropping a ball in goal area unopposed
  • Needlessly causing a try against
  • Deliberate avoidance of Jug offend
  • Throwing toys out of their pram
  • Front row kicking
  • Dissent during team talks

All Awards at discretion of captain

  • Players to arrange an event bi-monthly at the Camphill Club
  • All players to make the effort to stay for 1 hour in the bar after a match with opposition
  • Make new players and related individuals feel welcome in the club
  • Support club events and socials
  • Everyone to create a more family orientated club
  • Players to form a tour committee to organise and manage tour
  • Sponsors to be found for tour

Discipline

Discipline is an important part on how both playing and non playing members at Woking RFC conduct themselves. When a member lets themselves down, the club has procedures to deal with this. These can be found here.
